When you are about to embark on a fabulous creation, make it with paper first - so you don't waste any of your valuable duct tape.
When cutting duct tape, keep the sticky side up - it will stick to the scissors less.
For small fancy work, use a glass mat with a craft knife. The tape pulls easily off the glass surface without leaving a sticky residue and, you can cut very small details into the tape without wanting to crunch up all of it and throw it at your at your brother.
